Recommendations

We recommend that the associate director for safety and security update Peace Corps Manual sections 130 and 270 toinclude the roles and responsibilities of the current safety and security offices and key positions.

We recommend that the chief of staff direct the update to Peace Corps Manual section 340 to include the roles andresponsibilities of the Office of Safety and Security and the Office of Medical Services.

We recommend that the Director, in conjunction with the associate director for safety and security, develop formal documentation with the Department of State Bureau of Diplomatic Security to clarify the roles and responsibilities for overseas safety and security regarding Peace Corps staff and Peace Corps Volunteers.
