Description
The success of the Peace Corps’ mission depends on its ability to recruit and place individuals in host countries that have requested Volunteers, and for those Volunteers to be successful during their service. The post’s support in keeping Volunteers healthy, safe, and secure at their sites—where they live and work—is a critical feature of a successful Volunteer experience. The Office of Inspector General (OIG) conducted a limited scope evaluation of Peace Corps/Guatemala’s compliance with key health, safety and security, and housing standards at Volunteer sites, with a project scope from January 2023 to December 2025. At the time of our evaluation, 75 Volunteers were working across 4 project sectors in Guatemala.
