Disclaimer: Open/Closed recommendations are updated semiannually.We recommend that the country director ensure that the medical unit is providing the medical supply inventory control clerk with all of the necessary documentation to update the medical inventory system on a timely basis.
We recommend that the medical unit and the medical supply inventory control clerk work with the Office of Medical Services to strengthen procedures for managing the medical inventory.
We recommend that the medical unit ensure that the medical supply inventory is organized so that all pills are properly identified and expired medications are removed from inventory in a timely manner.
We recommend that the agency creates a policy to address the appropriate control of unexpired specially designated and controlled substances returned by Volunteers and establish necessary procedures.
