Disclaimer: Open/Closed recommendations are updated semiannually.We recommend that the Director develop guidelines and a process for staff to periodically assess the suitability of staffing levels at suspended posts, and to make timely reduction in staff decisions. The process should include, at a minimum, staff from the Director’s office, Regional Operations Office, Office of Safety and Security, Office of Global Operations, Congressional Relations, General Counsel, and Office of the Chief Financial Officer.
We recommend that the Director maintain adequate documentation of key decisions and recommendations related to opening, closing, and suspending any overseas office or country program.
